Laurentian Valley man facing multiple drug and weapons charges: OPP

The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they arrested a man for drug and weapons charges after a traffic stop last Monday.

OPP say that shortly before 4 p.m. on March 11, officers stopped a vehicle on MacKay Street in Pembroke, Ont.

Police say they found cannabis, suspected meth and weapons including a modified nail gun, ammunition and a replica firearm.

Investigators charged 27-year-old Andrew Rathier with possession of a schedule I substance (methamphetamine), possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a prohibited or restricted firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available

Rathier was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on April 15.
