A local gay and lesbian support group has been inundated with calls for help since the high-profile suicide of 15-year-old Jamie Hubley.
Pink Triangle Services told the Ottawa Sun they expect to help 12,000 people this year, which is double the number from last year.
The executive director said a lot of people want to know what’s being done and these concerns are not just coming from the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, two-spirt and queer community.
Jamie took his life on Oct. 15 after enduring years of bullying his family said for being the only openly gay student at his high school.
