OTTAWA – Earth Week begins Monday April 16th and ends April 22nd, and one business has a great idea on how you can you do your part to help lower your environmental foot print.
You can donate any used electronic devices such as computers, computer components, printers, and televisions and help grant a wish to a child with a life-threatening medical condition at the same time.
1-800-Got-Junk kicks off their Earth Week Campaign Saturday, with its 5th annual Recycle for Wishes e-waste & electronics recycling event in support of Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario.
Pierrette Raymond, owner of 1-800-Got-Junk told 1310News, in exchange for a $10 donation the world’s largest junk removal company will happily take your used electronics off your hands.
“It’s a one stop shop, you can bring all kinds of electronic waste to us, fill your trunk, your backseats and bring what you have sitting in the attic and basement and free up that space.”
Raymond adds, you don’t even need to get out of your car.
“We’ll have volunteers on site, they’ll take everything out of your vehicle for you, you just drive up and drive away it’s really that simple.”
They ask that only one television be donated per vehicle.
The drop off location is at Silvercity Theatre parking lot, 2385 City Park Drive, Ottawa, from 10am-1pm.
