City of Ottawa mayor, medical officer of health address latest COVID restrictions

Ottawa's mayor and top health officials are getting set to speak about what the latest round of COVID-19-related closures and restrictions mean for the city.

Mayor Jim Watson, City Councillor and Chair of the Ottawa Board of Health Keith Egli, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Vera Etches and General Manager of Emergency and Protective Services Kim Ayotte will give statements and take questions from the media starting at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 4.

The provincial government announced on Monday that it was pushing the start of in-person learning this winter to January 17.

Indoor dining at restaurants and gyms are set to close Wednesday, as part of another wave of restrictions set by the Ontario government.
