An 81-year-old man chased down a robbery suspect who allegedly snatched the man's casino winnings.

An elderly couple were at an A-T-M on Montreal Rd., and St-Laurent Blvd. to deposit their casino winnings yesterday afternoon.

Police say the two seniors were depositing the money into the A-T-M, when a man nearby said he was having issues with his debit card and asked for help.

The suspect then allegedly grabbed the envelope of cash and ran off.

The 81-year-old victim got into his car and chased the thief, cornering him in an alley.

Officials report a physical struggled ensued, and the suspect ran away – dropping the envelope of money behind.

Officers, using a description of the suspect, and a picture taken by a witness with their cellphone, arrested the suspect a short time later.

44-year-old Kevin Harris is charged with:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Failing to comply with a court order (undertaking)

Harris is set to appear in court today.
