Carport destroyed by fire in Bayshore

A carport in the Bayshore area has been destroyed by fire.
Around 12:50 a.m. Thursday, the Ottawa Fire Service responded to a 911 call reporting a vehicle fire in a multi-vehicle covered carport at 40 Bayshore Dr.
When crews arrived on the scene, the flames had spread from the vehicle and carport to the side of an adjoining townhouse.
A second alarm was declared and crews went on a defensive attack.
The carport roof collapsed, damaging about 25 vehicles inside.
The fire was under control just after 2 a.m.
