The City of Ottawa is offering residents free wood chips using trees and debris from the storm that rippled through the capital on May 21.
While no date has been provided as to when the wood chips would be available to the public, the City said it would release the information when it is available.
There will be six locations across the city of Ottawa where the wood chips can be picked up:
- 4244 Rideau Valley Drive
- 1655 Maple Grove Road
- 29 Hurdman Road
- 2145 Roger Stevens Drive
- Navan Memorial Centre at 1295 Colonial Road
- Nepean Sportsplex at 1701 Woodroffe Avenue
There is no limit to the number of wood chips a person can claim. Residents will have to bring their own containers to transport the wood chips to their homes.
The size of the wood chips will differ in size and quality from what is typically for sale at garden centres.
