Stephen Blais, the member of provincial parliament (MPP) for Orléans, is mulling over the idea of running for the leadership of the Ontario Liberal Party following the results of the June 2 election.
MPP Blais told The Rob Snow Show on Thursday, June 9 that it's time to reflect and make changes to the party and wants to play a leadership role in the process.
The former Cumberland city councillor added that he brings a lot to the table.
“It terms of the work I did at the City, I was always pushing the envelope to get the investments for Orléans and to make change throughout the city,” he said. “I wanted to be in a leadership position and I wanted to do the same thing at the provincial level for residents of Orléans and to move the entire province forward.”
Blais said he was not expecting the party to have to rebuild following the provincial election, adding no definitive decision on a leadership run has been made.
Former party leader Steven Del Duca resigned after the June 2 provincial election.
