EOHU’s top doctor advises Ontarians to wear a mask to help protect vulnerable populations

It's time Ontario residents start wearing masks again to help protect the province's most vulnerable people.
That's the message from the top doctor in the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU).
“We should strongly recommend masking in indoor places across the board,” said Dr. Paul Roumeliotis. “I think that mandating it has a different tone to it, it has enforcement implications and so on, and I'm hoping that people can just realize it's not a big deal.”
Dr. Roumeliotis told Wake Up With Rob Snow on Nov. 11 that people need to realize that businesses are not going to close, and that masking is just another layer of protection, along with vaccinations and hand washing to help protect vulnerable residents.
“You don't want to bring it home and you don't want to spread it,” he added.
Dr. Roumeliotis said that respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is not new this year, but the surge that hospitals are being faced with is a 'new phenomenon', and our best bet is to mask up and get vaccinated.
