Ottawa transit riders are dealing with another day of an O-Train shortage during the peak of the commute, and dozens of local bus trips being cancelled to free up buses for commuters trying to get downtown.
Only nine out of 13 O-Trains were expected to be in service on the Confederation Line for the peak morning and afternoon commutes, Tuesday, according to the city.
Supplemental bus service is in place again, Tuesday morning, non-stop into downtown from Tunney's Pasture, Hurdman and Blair stations.
To help provide enough buses for the supplemental routes shoring up the Confederation Line, 49 bus trips have been cancelled on an assortment of local routes, Tuesday morning. Another 75 trips have been cancelled for the afternoon.
OC Transpo has said that supplemental bus service will remain in place until at least the end of this week, and that it has selected the cancelled trips to try to minimize the overall effect on customers.
