Flags at Ben Franklin Place to be lowered to half-mast in memory of Frank Reid

Flags at Ben Franklin Place in Nepean will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset on Wednesday, Nov. 2 in honour of the late Frank Reid who passed away on Oct. 20, 2022 at the age of 76 following his battle with cancer.
He formerly played for the Ottawa Rough Riders and was a part of the Grey Cup winning team in 1973.
Following his football career, Reid moved on to municipal politics – where he was a member of the city and regional council. He served 11 years on Nepean City Council, including six years on Ottawa-Carleton Regional Council.
He ran for the nomination of the PC Party of Canada in the riding of Nepean-Carleton (later renamed Nepean) in 1984, 1988 and 1993 – and lost the races.
