A Gatineau police officer has been charged with assault and using the police database for personal reasons.
Jonathan Charbonneau, a 14-year veteran of the Gatineau Police Service was charged on Thursday for offences that took place in 2017.
He allegedly consulted the police database for personal purposes.
Police received a complaint in January of this year and opened an internal investigation.
At that time, Charbonneau was put on leave, and is expected to be on leave until 2020.
He will appear in court at a later date.
