Merivale Road closing for Queensway bridge construction

Merivale Road will be closed in both directions for about ten weeks, between Island Park Drive and Carling Avenue, starting on Monday.
The Ministry of Transportation Ontario is finishing its project to widen Hwy 417 between Maitland Avenue and Island Park Drive. The work also involves widening of the Merivale Road Bridge.
The closure, which starts at 6 a.m., is required to ensure public and worker safety.
Signed detours will be in place for the duration of the closure.
The sidewalk on the east side of Merivale Road will remain accessible for pedestrians.
Cyclists can follow the detour, or walk their bikes on the sidewalk.
Westgate Mall will be able to be reached only through Merivale Road.
No bus stops will be impacted, as OC Transpo routes 80 and 81 will continue to service Westgate Mall.
