More than 300 OC Transpo drivers will begin getting notices this week that their jobs are being eliminated.

OC Transpo has said for the last two years that it would be taking dozens of buses off the road once the Confederation Line opened. The number of job cuts expected was initially higher but has been whittled down to 345, thanks to things like keeping some vacant positions unfilled and moving some existing employees to LRT operations.

The affected positions will be eliminated by December 1.

OC Transpo says supports will be provided for the workers losing their jobs.
