A couple of lucky Ottawans are still figuring out what they're going to do with the money from their big lottery wins.

Fatima Da Silva won $250,000 playing the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation's Instant Hit It Big game.

“When I scanned the ticket and saw all those zeroes it was like a dream,” said the 61-year-old mother and grandmother. “I called my husband to come to the store right away and told him he could finally retire!”

Da Silva added that she and her husband would most likely also take a trip to Portugal to visit his family.

“And we’re going to relax and help our children and grandchildren,” she concluded.

Her winning ticket was purchased at Petro Canada on Bank Street in Gloucester.

Meanwhile, Richard Wiles of Ottawa won $1-million in the August 7, 2021, Lotto 6/49 draw.

His winning ticket was purchased at Macewen on Dunrobin Road in Kanata.
