Ottawa firefighters rescue trapped driver after rollover on Hwy. 417

One person had to be rescued by Ottawa firefighters after a vehicle rollover on the Queensway.

Around 11:40 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a call from the Ottawa Paramedic Service reporting a single-vehicle rollover on the eastbound Highway 417 at Highway 416.

According to OFS, the vehicle had rolled onto the driver's side, trapping the occupant inside.

Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicle and used specialized tools to remove the roof in order to access and safely extricate the driver.

The individual was then taken into the care of paramedics.
