Ottawa police arrest man wanted on second-degree murder charges

The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) has arrested a man wanted on second-degree murder charges.

Police say Devon Wynne, 28, was arrested by the South Neighbourhood Response Team (NRT) in Ottawa on Wednesday, January 26.

Wynne was wanted in connection with the stabbing death of Jayco Partridge, 48, in Vanier over the weekend.

Ottawa emergency crews responded to the area of Montreal Road and Hannah Street around 6:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, where Partridge had been stabbed.

He was transported to the trauma centre in critical condition with life-threading injuries, where he was later pronounced dead.

The accused is due in court to face the charges on Thursday, January 27.
