Ottawa woman injured in Highway 401 crash near Maitland

A woman from Ottawa was injured in a collision on Highway 401 in Augusta Township over the weekend.

The Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other emergency crews responded to the scene, near Maitland, around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The investigation showed that a tractor trailer was travelling eastbound when a tire detached and crossed into the path a westbound car.

A 23-year-old Ottawa woman was taken to hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

The westbound lane was closed for a short period of time for the investigation, which is ongoing.
