Raptors have been invited to Ottawa by PM Trudeau, says Nick Nurse

By Victoria Williston

The Raptors have been invited to Parliament Hill, following their NBA championship.

On Monday, the team celebrated their win in Toronto with a parade and rally that lasted most of the day.

Head coach Nick Nurse told Sportsnet's Prime Time Sports Wednesday night that he's been in contact with officials at the Prime Minister's office about scheduling the visit, but no details have been worked out.

All previous champions have been invited to the White House, but the Raptors have yet to hear from officials there.

“I have heard nothing about the White House. We are Canada's team anyway, right, said, Nurse.”

When the Blue Jays won the World Series, they went to both the White House and Parliament Hill in 1992, but the team only visited the capital after their 1993 championship.
