Skating season set to open outside Ottawa City Hall

Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson is urging residents to sharpen their skates, as the Sens Rink of Dreams is set to open for the skating season.

Residents and visitors will be allowed to hit the ice outside of Ottawa City Hall as of noon, Saturday, December 1.

The state-of-the-art refrigerated outdoor ice rink will be open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., weather permitting.

The heated changing facility on location is open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Beavertails is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Final Pass Skate Pro offers skate sharpening and rentals, and is open every Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The city’s website also has information about other outdoor rinks, including the Lansdowne Skating Court, the Jim Tubman Chevrolet Sens Rink at Canterbury Recreation Complex, and the Ben Franklin Place skating rink.
