The Super League Triathlon (SLT) is holding the third and final qualifying session of its triathlon in Ottawa. As part of the event, athletes will run, bike and swim in the Rideau Canal for a chance to win one of three spots in the SLT's championship series.
The race will start at Lansdowne Park on Saturday August 3 from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Sunday August 4 from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will also be a fan zone, food trucks on site, a photo booth and other family activities.
During the award ceremony, three women and three men will be given golden tickets and a chance to compete in the triathlon’s race to win what the SLT refers to as the largest cash prize available for the sport.
The SLT welcomes people of all ages and abilities to participate and offers professional athletes from around the world a chance to compete in their qualifying race. They also give young athletes on the way to the Olympics pathway a chance to be on the same course as the professionals.
