One man is facing charges after a tractor trailer hit a construction sign truck on Hwy 401 WB, between Brockville and Prescott.

The incident happened Tuesday at about 10:00 p.m.

Officers of the Grenville and Leeds Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police said initial reports were that the driver of the transport had fled the scene leaving a passenger's side door open.

Leeds OPP officers ended up locating him at the Mallorytown Service Centre and after further investigation, 31-year-old Kirandeep Singh Dhaliwal of Stoney Creek was arrested.

He faces charges of dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to stop at a collision, and impaired driving after he was found to have double the legal limit of alcohol in his system at the time.

Dhaliwal has a court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Division Brockville on July 27 to answer to his charges.

The occupant of the sign truck suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The OPP investigation continues.
