Man arrested in south Ottawa sex assault

The Ottawa Police Service's Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit is investigating an incident in the city's south end.

Officers were called to the Baycrest Drive and Cedarwood Drive area around 11 p.m. Sunday to find a woman whose friends were concerned for her safety. The woman had told her friends she was concerned for her own wellbeing before leaving a house by foot.  

Police found the woman and arrested a man. 

The woman told police she was forced to walk with the man who continuously sexually assaulted her over a two-and-a-half hour period. 

As a result of the investigation, Eid Aden, 20, of Ottawa is charged as follows:

– Sexual assault (three counts)
– Uttering threats (three counts)
– Forcible confinement
– Mischief (two counts)
– Robbery
– Breach of Probation 

He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
