Ottawa police looking for suspect in purse theft near Elmvale Acres Shopping Centre

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a robbery near the intersection of Othello Avenue and Chapman Boulevard.
It says a 57-year-old woman had been walking along the sidewalk, around 11:54 a.m. Friday, when she was approached from behind by the suspect. He who pulled on her purse with enough force to knock her to the ground.
The suspect is described as a heavy set man, possibly of aboriginal or Middle Eastern descent, 20 to 30-years old, with a chin strap beard and dark hair. At the time of the incident, he wore a camouflage hat, grey sweat pants and a dark-coloured jacket.
