Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is looking into an incident involving an aggressive dog at a home in Almonte.
Officers with the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police visited the house to follow-up on an investigation on Tuesday, at 10:22 a.m.
Two officers were confronted by an aggressive dog and sustained injuries.
During this confrontation, the homeowner also sustained a non-life threatening injury.
As a result, the OPP has notified the province's SIU which has invoked its mandate.
No further information is being provided.
