Spotlight: Discover America’s Music Cities with Collette Vacations

By Kara Colynuck

The Southern U.S. is rich in musical heritage. A guided tour of America’s Music Cities lets you drink in the sights, sounds and tastes of Nashville, Memphis and New Orleans.

The cultural getaway begins in the “Music Capital of the World,” Nashville, Tennessee. Take your reserved seat at the renowned Grand Ole Opry, explore the Country Music Hall of Fame and visit the sprawling Belle Mead Plantation where you will indulge in wine tasting and southern delicacies.

Afterwards, a tour of RCA Studio B gives you an insider’s look at Nashville’s oldest remaining recording studio, where Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton and Charlie Pride once recorded some of their classic hits.

Then you will roll along Music Highway to Memphis, Tennessee, the birthplace of the Blues, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Soul. You will be treated to Southern hospitality at your hotel just steps away from the iconic Graceland, where you can explore Elvis Presley’s palatial home and 14-acre Estate.

You will become immersed in the city’s vast musical heritage during a one-of-a-kind tour with local musicians. The evening can be spent exploring Beale Street’s vibrant musical clubs!

Traveling south, the next stop is the “Jazz Capital of the World,” New Orleans, Lousiana. This soulful city abounds with rich history, mouthwatering cuisine, and an incomparable soundtrack.

Highlights of the tour in this Southern gem include a unique Cajun and Creole cooking demonstration, a local jazz revue in the French Quarter and a Louisiana Swamp cruise.

This November, Country 101.1’s Nancy Stapleton will be embarking on this journey to America’s Music Cities with Collette Vacations.
