Charges have been dropped against a North Grenville woman accused of damaging the newly painted Pride crosswalk in Kemptville.
Members of the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the corner of Reuben Crescent and Prescott Street around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, after a witness reported seeing a woman driving a pickup truck, intentionally spinning its tires as it drove over the crosswalk.
At that time, the driver was identified and charged with mischief under $5,000.
The OPP now says it has received contradictory evidence and has dropped the charge.
