Senators trade Campoli

It was a relatively calm Trade Deadline Day for the Senators, most of their moves taking place earlier in the month.
The one deadline trade saw GM Brian Murray ship Chris Campoli to Chicago, in exchange for AHLer Ryan Potulny and a 2nd round draft pick in 2011.
It was a bitter, sweet day for Campoli who had spent parts of three seasons with the Sens.
“I enjoyed playing in Ottawa, it wasn’t something I saw myself leaving,” said the 26-year-old- blue liner. “(but) it’s exciting for me. It’s good that somebody wants you and as a player it’s important to be in a situation where that’s the case. so I’m excited.”
Forward Ryan Potulny has 18 goals and 23 assists in 58 AHL games this season. The 26 year old also has 22 goals in 119 career NHL games with the Flyers and the Oilers.
Campoli was with the Sens for 3 seasons and scored 12 goals over that span.
The other move for Ottawa was the acquisition of another goaltender. Curtis McElhinney was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightening. Ottawa will be McElhinney’s third team this season after he was traded from Anaheim to the Lightening last week. He was also the back up goalie in Calgary for 3 seasons.
