Robertson Road to get new name

Good old Robertson Road is about to become a thing of the past.
Council votes Wednesday to rename the street that runs through Bells Corners to Lloyd Francis Boulevard in honour of the M.P., Speaker of the House and World War Two veteran who helped develop the area.
Historians, business owners and the family of John Robertson, the Nepean surveyor and general store owner from the 1800’s, are all upset that his namesake is being replaced.
If council backs the change, Robertson Road – between Baseline and Eagleson – will become Lloyd Francis Boulevard in May of 2012.
