Father’s Day in the capital

Sunday is Father’s Day and all over the capital families were treating dad on his special day.

“This morning my boy and I went to Tim Horton’s alone so he got to eat a chocolate doughnut and then we got on our bikes and we came to Preston Street to enjoy the Italian Festival,” said Jean.

“We’re spending the day doing exactly what we’re doing now,” said Robert. He and his son were out for a bike ride.

“We started it off with brunch at my daughter’s place and we got here and surprise, surprise, other daughter is in town,” said Kevin who added that he would choose time with his family over presents.

“Stuff I have,” he said. “It’s time we ain’t got enough of.”

Every other dad who spoke with 1310News agreed and it was clear Sunday that many families were giving their dads just that.

When asked which Father’s day was their favourite, many dads said they couldn’t choose. Others said this year’s was in the running to be the best yet.

And between all the festivals, Sunday Bike Days and a perfect forecast there was lots to do to keep dads happy.
