Newly renovated Splash Wave Pool on Ogilvie Road officially opens

The newly renovated Splash Wave Pool on Ogilvie Road had its official opening Tuesday with ward councillor Tim Tierney taking a dip himself.
The opening followed a 3 million dollar revitalization made possible with funding from all three levels of government.
Royal Galipeau, M.P. for Ottawa-Orleans, Phil McNeely, MPP for Ottawa-Orleans and Mayor Jim Watson were also in attendance.
Watson says before the renovation the facility was rundown.
“Its a world of difference,” he says. “Its wonderful, bright, safe facility and we are very proud to partner with the federal and provincial government.”
The facility comes complete with a wave pool, lane pool, water slide and kiddie area.
“I like how there is the lane swimming option as well as the wave pool,” one swimmer says. “You can come and do different things all at once, all in one visit.”
