CFIA expands burger recall warning to include additional product and distribution information

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has expanded its recall involving two brands of frozen hamburgers because of the threat of E. coli.
The Country Morning brand beef burgers were recalled earlier in February, month, but now additional product codes and stores where they were sold are being added.
The Country Morning beef burgers product has been distributed to co-op and TGP grocery stores in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, North West Territories, Yukon Territories and Nunavut.
The No Name Club Pack beef steakettes product has been distributed by Loblaws to the following stores:
- Ontario: Cash&Carry/RCWC Ontario Corporate, Extra Foods, Freshmart, Loblaws Great Food, no frills, RCWC West Corporate, Real Canadian Superstore, Value-mart, Your Independent Grocer, Zehrs and Zehrs Great Food
- British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba: Extra Foods, Extra Foods no frills, Real Canadian Superstore West Corporate, Shop Easy/SuperValu, Superstore, Your Independent Grocer
- North West Territories, Yukon Territories and Nunavut
The recall of the Country Morning brand beef burgers and No Name brand club pack beef steakettes was first announced on Feb.24 because of an E. coli concern.

The manufacturer, New Food Classics, 1122 International Blvd., Suite 601, Burlington, Ont., has voluntarily recalled the affected product from the marketplace.
Food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but consumption of food contaminated with these bacteria my cause serious and potentially life-threatening illnesses.
So far, only one illness has been reported from consuming the product.
The agency is also recalling several more types of Grillhouse beef burger products because of the potential of E. coli poisoning. The following Grillhouse brand products are affected:
