Record-breaking temperatures roll into Ottawa

OTTAWA – Dust off the barbeque, its getting much warmer in the capital!
Spring wont be sprung until early Tuesday, but Ottawa residents are gearing up for a blast of warm weather. Warm temperatures will roll over the region this weekend and last right through next week.
According to Environment Canada, Ottawa has never seen a year when we didn’t get a dumping of snow after the first day of spring.
But 1310 meteorologist Harold Hosein, says he doesn’t see a flake in the forecast.
“We have unusually warm weather. Ideal weather for outdoor activities on the weekend with lots of sunshine. You want to wear sun block because the UV index will be heading up into the moderate range.”
Harold adds that the warm weather will snap some long-standing records.
“Enjoy temperatures which could be new records that could be broken from as far back as 1966.”
Golfers can also rejoice! A number of courses are opening this weekend including the Canadian, Dragonfly, Castleview, Prescott, Cedar Glen, Calabogie and Falcon Ridge.
