Massive power outage from Barrhaven to Kanata

OTTAWA – If you woke up Friday morning and noticed your alarm clock blinking, you’re not alone. Over 24,000 people spent most of the early morning hours in the dark as a massive power outage swept across the city from Barrhaven to Bells Corners to Kanata.

Hydro Ottawa told 1310News that they lost power from the provincial grid shortly after 4:30 a.m.

Crews spent about four hours restoring the power.
