Ottawa Police lay 212 charges through STEP program

OTTAWA – Police laid 212 charges in April, as part of their selective traffic enforcement program.

One hundred and tweleve motorists were charged with making improper lane changes and another 100 were charged with incorrectly using reserved lanes.

This month, police are cracking down on motorists who run red lights and who don’t fully stop at stop signs.

The Safer Roads Ottawa Program is a leading community partnership between Ottawa Fire Services, Ottawa Paramedic Service, Ottawa Police Service, Ottawa Public Health and the Public Works Department.
