Kindergarten classes downsized as part of Liberals’ austerity measures

The McGuinty government has announced that full day kindergarten classes with two instructors will be downsized to a class average of 26 kids, as part of new provincial austerity measures.
Junior kindergarten to grade 3 classes have a limit of 23 students in each class, but most classes would have 20 or fewer.
Classes from grades 4 to 8 would have an average class size of 24.5 students, while grades 9 to 12 would have 22-student class sizes on average.
The Liberals said the changes would secure teachers’ jobs.
