9th annual Westfest wraps up Sunday

OTTAWA – Sunday, is your last day to enjoy Westfest, the three day festival in Westboro Village which is entirely free and includes plenty of entertainment and street performers.
Joel Gibb is the front man of the Hidden Cameras, who performed this weekend.
He told 1310News he’s excited to on stage with his band again.
“We haven’t played together all year, so it’ll be a little bit of a love-fest, reunion,” said Gibb.
Founder Elaina Martin told 1310News the street festival which includes spoken word artists, is great for the whole family.
“Everything for everyone. From little kids to older people, there’s something for everyone really,” said Martin.
Ottawa rapper Peter Joynt is playing on Sunday night.
He told 1310news he’s happy to be part of such an accessible event.
“The cool thing about Westfest is that it kind of started small as a street party and just grew and grew and grew. And it continues to be free,” said Joynt.
Joynt said Westfest also has a lot to offer outside the music.
“There’s a great street party that you can just go,” said Joynt. “Pop in and see some music, then go and walk up along Richmond.”
Organizers said they expect up to 5,000 people to watch the concerts each night and about 100,000 people to attend the street festival.

- Riot Police (7:00pm – 7:45pm)
- Peter Joynt (8:15pm – 8:45pm)
- The Cooper Brothers (HEADLINERS- 9:15pm-10:30pm)
