Ottawa Police shoot car in Centretown West area

Ottawa Police are investigating after one of their own opened fire on a vehicle racing towards him in the Centretown West area.

The incident happened just before midnight Saturday night near Rochester St. and Gladstone Ave.

Sgt. John Gibbins told 1310News the officer feared for his safety when a four door Mercedes accelerated towards him.

The vehicle drove off after the incident and there were no injuries.
