YMCA looking to open new Carlingwood Mall location
OTTAWA – The YMCA is campaigning to put a new community centre inside the Carlingwood Mall.
Barely a year after they closed their old location on Lockhart Avenue, the Y is driving a membership sales blitz.
Employees are camped out inside the mall, with a goal of securing 2,000 memberships before the end of September.

“Excitement is perhaps an understatement. We’re absolutely thrilled,” says Tosha Rhodenizer, vice president of health, wellness and family engagement.
Rhodenizer says the Y’s old location was in need of renovations they couldn’t afford.
If the YMCA hits its goal, it will secure the new location with a plan to open its doors in January.
