BARRHAVEN, Ont. – Ottawa Public Health says their investigation continues after 19 children and 8 adults fell ill at a day camp in Barrhaven Thursday.
Paramedics took six children to CHEO around 3 p.m. on Thursday for further assessment before being released.
Other children were monitored outside until their parents arrived to pick them up.
In an update on Friday, OPH said they are still trying to determine the source of the illness to prevent any further spread.
It’s believed to be caused by rice that was served for lunch at the camp.
OPH said food samples at the camp and at the restaurant were taken for testing and results can be expected in 7-10 days.
The agency is continuing their interviews with camp coordinators, parents, kids and other staff.
