Ottawa dentist barred from practicing his profession

OTTAWA — An Ottawa dentist has been permanently barred from his profession after gluing second hand teeth into a woman’s mouth.

According to the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, Khaled Emile Hashem cemented two human teeth into a patient’s mouth back in march of 2012.

The woman, a 23 year-old Carleton student, was never told that Dr. Hashem intended to use human teeth as replacement crowns, and was mortified when she learned they were from another person.

Dr. Hashem was also found guilty of numerous other infractions including failing to follow proper sanitary protocols and overcharging.

The Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario revoked Dr. Hashem’s dentistry license in June.

After they learned he was still posing as a dentist, they sought a court order, and officially barred him of providing any kind of dental treatment.
