Rockland schools placed on lockdown; 2 teens arrested in separate threats

ROCKLAND – Rockland schools were placed on lockdown after two separate incidents on Thursday.

Russell County O.P.P. arrested a 17-year-old boy after he made threats to cause bodily harm with a weapon. Rockland High School was placed on lockdown as a precaution on Thursday morning.

A second 17-year-old boy was arrested after he was spotted carrying a firearm while walking along Giroux Street in the afternoon. Rockland schools were again briefly placed on lockdown.

O.P.P. say the incidents were not related.
