Mass of hope being held for man missing more than two weeks

As the hunt continues for a man who went missing more than two weeks ago, a mass of hope is being held this weekend.

According to the CBC, family and friends of Mathieu Trudel, 37, will gather at St. Joseph’s Parish in Orleans at 1 p.m. on Saturday

The illustrator from Ottawa-Gatineau was last seen on Vaudreuil Street in Gatineau around 8 p.m. on the evening of March 2.

Friends and family say the disappearance is very out of character for Trudel, and worry he may not be thinking clearly as the result of a severe head injury a few years ago.

Trudel was cycling on Montreal Road, near the Cummings Bridge in October of 2014 when he was hit by a car. He was left with serious injuries including a severe concussion.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 613-230-6211. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa Police app.
