Man found impaired in stolen backhoe

L’ANGE-GARDIEN, Que. — An Ottawa-area man has been charged with impaired driving after police found him passed out behind the controls of a stolen backhoe.
Police found the backhoe stuck in a ditch, in L’Ange-Gardien, early Wednesday morning, after residents in the area had complained of a loud vehicle.
Police say the man passed out at the backhoe’s controls had more than four times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Richard Chretien, 41, of Sarsfield has been charged with impaired driving.
Police are still trying to locate the backhoe’s rightful owner.
