Get ready to shovel: about 20 cm of snow by Monday

OTTAWA — There’s a whole lot of shovelling and snowblowing in Ottawa’s future, as a Colorado low heads for eastern Ontario.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning, predicting total amounts between 15 and 25 centimetres of snowfall across most of eastern Ontario.
“The snow will fall heavily at times this afternoon and evening before tapering off overnight,” Environment Canada wrote in its snowfall warning for Ottawa. “Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.”
Temperatures will reach a high of -7, where they will hold steady overnight Sunday into Monday morning.
Because of the amount of snow in the forecast, the City of Ottawa has put its overnight winter parking ban into effect for Sunday night into Monday morning.
