First shooting of 2017 wounds one man

OTTAWA — A man has been wounded in the capital’s first shooting of 2017, but there are questions about where the shooting happened.

The man showed up at hospital around 6 p.m., Wednesday, with a gunshot wound. Investigators went to the hospital, where the man told them he’d been shot near the Canterbury Recreation Complex, near Walkley and St-Laurent.

Ottawa Police tell 1310 NEWS, they’re looking into the man’s version of events and aren’t convinced the shooting happened where he said it did.

The man’s injuries were minor. He’s been treated and released from hospital.

No arrests have yet been made.
