Ottawa/Gatineau arrest six in connection to drug operations in both cities

GATINEAU – A joint police operation targeting drug operations on both sides of the Ottawa River has resulted in six arrests, and the seizure of a variety of drugs, cash, cellphones, and ammunition for a handgun.

Gatineau Police led the two-month investigation that came to a head Thursday morning with simultaneous raids on a Hull apartment and a home in the south end of Ottawa around 5:00am.

Four men in their 20’s were arrested at the Twyford Street location, while Gatineau Police arrested two men at the location on Lucerene Boulevard.

Charges of possession and possession for the purpose of trafficking are expected.

Police say their investigation continues.

Items seized include:

– 9 grams of crack
– 130 grams of cocaine
– 15 grams of MDMA
– 7 grams of cannabis
– 42 tablets to be identified
– 5 cell phones
– 17 ammunition of different calibers (handgun)
– $3,095 in Canadian money
– Several items related to the consumption and production of narcotics
