Police arrest 5, seize large quantity of drugs

Ottawa Police Service's Guns and Gangs unit arrest five men, a total of 92 charges laid.

Four men were in a car in the Baseline and Fisher area Friday, police attempted to stop them around 1:15 p.m., they rammed a police vehicle to try to escape the area but were unsuccessful. The men then attempted to flee by foot, police report numerous vehicles were damaged during the arrests.

After arresting the men, police executed several search warrants across the city, seizing four loaded handguns, 1.28kg of cocaine, 45g of crack cocaine, 213.8g of marijuana, six 100mg patches of Fentanyl, five vehicles (for proceeds of crime), and a large sum of cash.

Haider Affat, 29; Grace M’Pemo, 22; Abdulaziz Al-Enzi, 31; Abraham Bihi, 28; and Keyonte Fletcher, 26 were scheduled to appear in court Saturday.

The investigation is on going.
