Husband charged in Navan family stabbing

By OttawaMatters Staff

A 58-year-old man has been charged with six counts of aggravated assault, after his wife was stabbed in their Navan home on Mother's Day.

The wife was stabbed multiple times in her lower body, Sunday morning. It's believed the couple's 23-year-old daughter intervened, stabbing her father several times.

Charges are not expected against anyone else in connection with the incident.

The daughter received minor injuries. The 49-year-old wife and mother was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

A 20-year-old man and 11-year-old boy were treated and released at the scene by paramedics.

The father is scheduled to make his first court appearance today.
