The Gatineau Police Service, in collaboration with the Sûreté du Québec, have made another arrest in a kidnapping and attempted murder case.
Officers began investigating the kidnapping of two men, ages 28 and 35, in Gatineau back on October 1.
That lead to the arrest of Steve Duarte, 45, and Jordan Pichette, 21, both of Gatineau, just three days later. They appeared in the Quebec Court and were detained, facing various charges, including attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and kidnapping.
Arrest warrants were also issued on October 23, for Abdul Al-Sherifi, 24, and David “Conquer” Couture, 26.
Police say information from the public allowed them to arrest Couture in a home in the municipality of Saint-Paul-de-l'Île-aux-Noix in Montérégie.
He faces the following charges:
– Attempted murder
– Conspiracy to commit murder
– Criminal harassment
– Removal
– Sequestration
– Assault
He appeared in court by telephone Saturday and remained detained. He is set to be transferred to the judicial district of Gatineau.
The SPVG is still looking for Al-Sherifi.
Anyone who spots him is asked not to approach him, and to call 911 immediately.
Anyone with information on Al-Sherifi is invited to contact the SPVG info line by calling 819-243-INFO (4636), option 5.
